Virginia medical cannabis card guide
Those wishing to participate in Virginia's medical cannabis program must:
Be a permanent or temporary resident of the Commonwealth;
Be at least 18 years of age or have the consent of a parent/legal guardian;
Have a valid government-issued ID; and
Have a condition or disease that may benefit from the use of cannabis products.
A licensed practitioner determines if the patient has a condition or disease that may benefit from the use of cannabis products.
The law no longer requires a patient to receive a registration card from the CCA. The CCA does not require patients to register, and it is not required to access cannabis products at licensed dispensaries.
