Delaware medical cannabis card guide

Applicants generally must be Delaware residents and provide a DE driver's license or state ID. A Delaware-licensed physician, physician associate/assistant, or advanced practice registered nurse must certify that the patient has a diagnosed condition for which medical cannabis may provide therapeutic or palliative benefit. Patients age 65 or older may self-certify without a practitioner's written certification. Approved cardholders may purchase medical cannabis from Delaware-licensed dispensaries. Out-of-state cardholders can apply for a temporary Delaware visiting-patient card for $20.

Card terms run 1, 2, or 3 years and fees are nonrefundable. Cards issued to terminally ill patients may carry an indefinite expiration date. Applicants under 18 need the consent of a parent or legal guardian plus certification from an authorized pediatric specialist.
